Below is a list of games we’ve worked on and a brief description of our involvement.

Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion

Publisher: Cephalofair Games.

Year Published: 2020.
Involvement: Graphic Design (Box), 3D Renders, Photography

Description: After our work on creating marketing and environmental graphics for the Frosthaven Campaign, Cephalofair Games came to us to begin work on the box design for Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion. Our concept was to create the look and feel of a realistic wooden crate, complete with worn illustrations and a paper backdrop for the descriptive elements. We used wood, metal, and paper textures to complete this look. We also took photographs for the content image for the back of the box and rendered 3D models of the miniatures.

Nuts about Mutts

Publisher: Grandpa Beck’s.

Year Published: 2020.
Involvement: Graphic Design, Art Direction, Copy Edits

Description: We used this game as a starting point for a complete rebrand of Grandpa Beck’s Games. We created a new publisher logo, a template for all new games and revised editions (such as this game), a unique player info graphic and iconography, and a general concept of elevating the brand while still keeping them relevant to their existing casual market. Nuts about Mutts originally did not have a theme. After reviewing the game, we felt a dog-walker theme would work perfectly and wrote a narrative to establish this concept. We added iconography to the action cards and unified the visual elements to be more easily understood while playing.

Gnoming A Round

Publisher: Grandpa Beck’s.
Year Published: 2020.

Involvement: Graphic Design, Art Direction, Copy Edits

Description: This game is a revised edition of Golf and when we started the concept of gnomes playing golf and a fairy tale book box was in the early stages fo development. We worked with their illustrator to rework the layout to fit within the new brand language established with Nuts about Mutts. As well, we encouraged them to change the theme to miniature golf and wrote a back-story narrative for the game and took the fairy tale concept further. Our goal with any project we work on is to integrate the theme of the game throughout and we feel this game illustrates that concept perfectly.

Dinosaur Island: Rawr ‘N Write

Publisher: Pandasaurus
Year Published: 2021.

Involvement: Graphic Design (Initial Rulebook Design)

Description: Pandasaurus Games was working on two major releases for their with Dinosaur World and Dinosaur Island Rawr ‘N Write. They contacted us to help speed up their workflow. We were tasked us to take their text-only rulebook and create an InDesign file for their in-house graphic designer, Stevo, to work from. This required us to create paragraph and character styles, and ensure there was enough space for diagrams.

Dinosaur World

Publisher: Pandasaurus
Year Published: 2021.

Involvement: Graphic Design (Initial Rulebook Design)

Description: This is the second game that we worked on for Pandasaurus. Using the initial layout and style sheets that we created for Rawr ‘N Write, they asked us to work on this game as well. After launching, the Kickstarter earned more than $1,000,000 and we’re proud to have been part of the team that made this happen.

Ramen! Ramen!

Publisher: Japanime Games
Year Published: 2020.

Involvement: Graphic Design, Art Direction, Illustration, Copy Edits

Description: Japanime Games wanted an engaging design for their newest card game. Their existing concept was not working so we redid every element from the ground up, only keeping the existing food illustrations and provided art direction for the cover illustration. We created photo real elements for the cards, player aids, and rulebook. We also illustrated the art for the back of the cards and designed an exciting logo for the cover and modified existing art from the game for the back fo the box. For fun, we created a unique player info diagram for the publisher. Lastly, we rewrote the rulebook to be less confusing and better structured.

The Shores of Tripoli

Publisher: Fort Circle Games
Year Published: 2020.

Involvement: Graphic Design, Art Direction, Copy Edits

Description: For this game, we used our experience on a previous project with Normal Warfare Publications. Our goal was to create a historical design with elements that felt clean yet thematic. As well, we needed to create a design that would be easy to rework into future titles, as a line of games. This was the first published game for Fort Circle Games so it was important that the look and feel stood out and would be appreciated by the many museums wanting to carry it. We also created a concept box for their Kickstarter Campaign.

Red Coats in the Wilderness

Publisher: Normal Warfare Publications
Year Published: 2019.

Involvement: Graphic Design, Art Direction, Copy Edits

Description: Normal Warfare Publications came to us wanting to revise their original historical wargaming ruleset. They also requested that we give their business a complete rebrand. This required that we rewrite and edit the entire 100+ page rulebook, take professional photographs for the interior, while also working to recreate the look of their entire business from the ground up. This resulted in a premium quality product that has been extremely well-received by their fans.
